Tick-borne diseases
Ticks parasitize other organisms by feeding on their blood and, in doing so, transmit many dangerous diseases. If you have been bitten by a tick, there is a risk of contracting one of several serious tick-borne diseases, such as:
Lyme disease,
tick-borne encephalitis (TBE),
human granulocytic anaplasmosis,
babesiosis (piroplasmosis),
and many others.
If you have not sent the tick for laboratory testing, you should undergo diagnostic testing for these diseases as soon as possible. During the medical consultation, the physician will order appropriate tests to help select a treatment plan and medications that will not place excessive strain on your body or significantly weaken your immune system.
At the Dr. Ozimek Center, we also provide comprehensive medical care for patients who have already been diagnosed with tick-borne diseases.
